Kick-a**!

I, being a NIN fan, LOVE this song. It's very dark (which is a good thing), and has a good beat propelling it along. The bass guitar riffs, while being dangerously similar to those of a real NIN song, fit perfectly and add a nice "raw" element.

I did listen to your original Disfunction, which I thought wasn't bad, but you have definitely improved it tremendously with this version. This will be a great song to work out to. Good stuff!

Please give my song a listen if you have some extra time - thanks!

Extar responds:

Yeah I thought mentioning NIN as an influence would help things along :D I was already aware of the bass part in the guitar solo section bearing resemblance to a certain NIN song, but I wasn't aware there were such striking similarities elsewhere. Glad to to see you listened to the original, on this one I was trying something completely different from what I usually do, so it's good to see it paid off. Thanks for the review. :)

This song rocks!

Wow, this song is really great. It's got all the elements I love in good techno... a solid beat, blazing background base and melody, ripping lead sounds, and an overall mystifying/dark tone. It gets a 10 here, a 5 in the voting, and a download!

Great work! If you ever get a chance, please check out my song too!

Thanks for the review, I'll check out your music aswell :D

Much better!

Taking that sound down in pitch really fixed the piercing problem. The bass is heavy, but I think that's one of the strengths in the song actually. I really enjoy when the background melody kicks in, at about 1:23.

Good stuff! Please check out my music if you ever have a chance.

ScottyKnows responds:

Yeah. I really like big bass. Your music is pretty nice.

A good base

I enjoy the groove of this song a lot, and I think the bass line is very catchy. I personally don't care for the high-pitched sound at all, though. It is just too shrill and harsh. Maybe take the sound down an octave? That may fix it, or at least make it less penetrating.

ScottyKnows responds:

Thanks for the advice. I submitted a newer version.

Love the music, ditch the samples

The music you have created in the background is great, and would be very good in a game, but the samples you have throughout the song are distracting, at least in the level of use they have here. The timing of the samples is off in parts as well. I say keep the music but tone down the sample use and volume considerably.

A great main theme song

I think this would be awesome as a game title song, or possibly a final or boss level. It's got a ton of intensity and power, and would really make one feel like they're battling the world if they were playing a game. If it were to be used for something like that, however, I would agree with skullz below in saying that the beginning build-up could be shortened considerably.javascript:submission_co ntroller.GetReviewController().SaveRe view();

Awesome theme!

There's so much potential for those notes! Just the short sampling that this is had a great, smooth feel. The chords are perfect for layering other melodies on top of, too. Definitely expand it into a full track!

Great!

I really enjoy this one. I love the transitions with the base and main melody, and would love to listen to it while playing a game or doing something else. It has plenty of changes which keeps it interesting, and its upbeat feel is very enjoyable.

Great song, just a little unbalanced

Much like padlock says, the drums are really cool but I think they somewhat overpower the other elements of the song. The theme of the melody is very spooky and mysterious, yet soothing at the same time - exactly the kind of thing I love! I just think the drums take away from the feel a bit.

Great work!
